Why is it, that a hunk of steel with some glass and rubber makes us love them so much? For me it's the freedom! Being with a machine that can handle itself (and one that is EASY to fix!,lol). Just being able to turn the key and go anywhere. I'll be very upset the day I to old and must leave the wheel! Wheels have become such a huge part of our everyday lives I was just wondering what it means to others that love their hunks of steel too.lol

ya got a small part of it right...about the wheels on it etc....
the main thing we all have in common is we like our eyebrows pulled to the back pockets of our pants when we flat foot the car...
nothing like a car that will RUN !
i personally hate driving around town in a day to day driver....
not to mention many of us like to work on a create and ideas and implement them on our rides.....

project cars are one of the best ways to express your personality... somebody that puts a BBC in a pinto and sits on a milk crate just for the hell of it has a whole lot differant personality then somebody that builds a ground up restoration of a model A. (Ill give you one guess which one I am  )
but even still a piston is a piston, a bumper is a bumper and a car is a car nomatter what. cars are a universal way for everybody from all walks of life to connect on the same level with eachother. its hard to find that kind of diversity in a single group now days.
why do I love cars? being creative with them, feeling my efforts in full action in the end and learning new tricks from other gearheads as I go.
PS welcome to the forum, mics67.
