Vintage outlaw trl's?? Who makes them? Are they well built? Will they do well as far as resale? Better choice---HAULMARK OR PACE? Thanks for any in-put on this trl.
Thanks,Bill

vintage, middle the road trailer, hallmark, same dont like the way paint holds up, I liked the PACE, theyve had trouble with cracked corners, and outside siding problems. Much had been written about PACE's problems I hope they did something about them!!!! Im holding out for awhile to see what happens, and changes, I almost bought a pace, Im in the wait and see mode!!!!!!!!!! David.

Thanks, I looked at a pace here locally and we have had some heavy rain and it had a big old wet spot in it.. I like the pace as well but the haulmark has been around for a long time as well. I sold a 28ft american hauler a few months ago and to be honest it was a very soild trl and never leaked!! I've been looking at the VINTAGE OUTLAW which really looks like a sharp trl but name brand will always have good resale.
Thanks,Bill

I gotta a 1995 Haulmark 26ft. hasn't leaked inside yet but rear door sealers rotted and let it ruin the drop down door wood, my fault for not paying attention. In my opinion the Haulmark is one of the best.

I'm with ZIP on this. I've got a 32 ft Haulmark and had no problems.
Not as nice as the Pace but I'm happy with it so far

I did not buy mine new, i bought it in 1999, for $5,000.00 it had cabinets installed in front all across front and sides upper and lower, plus vynil tile on the floor. It was also had 110 floresences light inside and outside quarts lights. It won't fit a golf cart due the cabinets installed both sides in front, but a 4 wheeler does fit just fine. I wouldn't sell it today for what i payed 9 yrs. ago for it. I have since installed a gererator box on front and a 5500 watt generator that powers up everthing i want to run from the plugins that are installed.
Bottom line i could not be better pleased with any brand.

I have a 28 ft Cargo Mate, good value and havnt had any problems with it. I used to sell Vintage trailers and I had one. They used to have some problems but I think that they have them straightened out now. They are a good trailer Once you get into a certain price range it is just a matter of what you want. There are good and bad with all of them.

I have an '06 28' Raptor by American Hauler. If you have a dragster, order a flat floor and roll the axles back, I know this from experience! Extra height will also get you a longer door which helps too. Good luck! 8) JB Forgot: wish I had ordered 30 or 32' instead....

Thanks, I have a door car (1972 nova) If you had to do it all over again would still went with a RAPTOR? I can get a haulmark for about $800 cheaper but it don't have near the options as the raptor! I know the guy that owns the trl company here in columbus ohio where I'm buying the trl and he gave a big $$$ break on this trl..$9,600 plus tax which put it at $10,100 out the door. The haulmark out the door is $9,300 but don't have cabinets,110,runners and a bunch of other little things I would have to put in it.

What do you mean by rolling the axles back? How does a flat floor give you extra height? Excuse my ignorance just curious.

The way I understand it it gives you less wheelwell which allows you to open the car door so you won't have to climb thru the window. I don't think he means floor to roof height. Just height for getting in and out of the car.

Hadn't been on in a few days, but overall I am happy with the Raptor trailer, by rolling the axles it just means that they can order the axles from the manuf. with more of a rake angle (back) when looking at them from the hub end. It lowers the trailer ground clearance and gives a better loading angle on the ramp door. Downside is you have to put the bogie wheels on the back so you don't drag it every time you go through a dip. The extra height is just that, they add 6" or 12" to the overall height of the sidewalls and you get a longer door, hence shallower slope. Being that you have a doorcar, I would order the longest (at least 7') and shallowest (3-4") beavertail they can build. Only downside to beavertail is it could limit your market when you go to sell it - dragster guys need flat floors. If I had it to do over again I would order the interior naked - I have already had to take some of it out to add things and I could have insulated, wired, plumbed, and built the cabinets to suit me. Make sure you get the long motorhome tongue and wide side door. Good luck! 8) JB And yes I have friends with Haulmark and this is a better trailer IMHO.

I ordered the raptor before reading your post and it sounds as tho i did order it right. I added the side door, gen door and had them turn the axles. Also,i added a extra vent and had the front one framed and wired for a air-con later down the line.It will have the 48 inch door and 50 amp electric box. It should work out ok..Forgot it's screwless as well. Thanks for the in-put.Bill
