i have a 1995 s10 2.2l 4cyl 5spd, and was wanting to do some modifications to it. have seen thousands of v8 swaps out there but i dont want to lose the gas mileage on a v8 and want to keep it small. i was thinking about either a 2.4l from a pontiac solstice or the 2.0l turbo from the solstice gxp. i know it can be done and have someone who can do it no problem. just wondering if anyone thinks it would be as satisfying as it sounds. i also saw someone put an rb25 (skyline) in a 1994 s10 so i was thinking maybe a vq (350z) could be possible but i kind of want to keep it all domestic. please post your thoughts, views, insights etc..

Probably the most satisfying and easiest wold be to install a Vortec 4.3 which was factory in later models, complete with all computer wiring harness and modules. You would find everything needed at your auto salvage or surplus yards there. I imagine the frame mounts will be different.

The turbo Skyline does sound intriguing though.

There are some awsome performance upgrades for the 4.3 also. Seen a guy with a69 camaro making over 1000 hp.
