View Full Version : How long to wait for a response?

Once again, I know I'm new to this forum.

How long does it typically take for people to respond to questions about "For Sale" items? 24 hours, 2-3 days, ever?

Am I the only one that has experienced this? If I were selling something, I would check daily, IF I intended to sell. I recognise that most items do list phone numbers but, honestly, initially I'd prefer to have my simple questions answered thru the forum first. Then I could make the determination if the item I'm interested in is worth making a call on. Then arrange to see the item.

Just needed to get that off my chest, probably just need to show more patience.

it depends on the seller... I personally am an admitted RJ adict... I get a text message to my phone when someone sends me a message on here, and I respond asap.

That is just me though...

I get messages sent to my email. No excuse not to get back to you within 24 hours unless I am away. I would say if nothing by 48 hours, either call or move on.

I drive an 18 wheeler.but i have my wife check e-mails everyday.just to reply.and to stay in touch with buyers and pEople that i am wanting to buy from.or sell to..COMMUNICATION THE KET TO SUCCESS !!!!!!!!!

I have messeged people and not got a reply for a week or so and still purchased it. I just think if people arent going to check this site for messeges they should say it in the ad, some do most dont.

I usually reply within 48hrs, unless its a question not worth answering. Which seems to happen a lot.

All is well. The guy finally returned my message. Then I called and spoke with him.

Next step for me is to hash this over with a few of my buddies that are still current. Then, maybe a road trip to look the car over and see if it's what I want.
