I have heard that you can go from 12v to 6v battaries on a motorhome for longer lasting storage . And, how do you set it up? thanks

You would have to run them in series to get the system back to 12 volts. kind of like batteries in a flashlight. Don't know if it would benefit you or not. If you have room for two batteries, why not run two 12 volts in parallel?

My motorhome has room for 4 batts. I had 2 12volts in it last year and they would'nt last only 1/2 the night w/heater on !!! We race in Montana in May with temps still in the 30's  people get mad when i start the generator at 6am. Was told 6v lasts twice as long

Looked on the net and found the following website, maybe it will help you out. Good luck on it.

T-105 6 volt battery for motorhomes.I have 4, 6 volt trojan batterys in my motorhome.I got them hooked up in a series and end up with 12 volts. This is the way to go if you want battery longevity.

How did you not get 24 volts?Or did you series two seperate pairs and then parallel them?
