Hello
I was cleaning up what was thought to be a aluminum power glide case, to use in a dragster project... I noticed it look just like a power glide on the outside, I dug out the Powerglide handbook just to see what year it was, noticed the numbers were not listed. What I found was the case is weird in the back behind the governer support. The hole you inlarge for a transbrake isnt there, Its either next to the horse shoe, in later models or up top left hand on early models. There also is No hole inside the horse shoe. The cavity next to it is large with no divider. There is a small hole maybe 1/8 inch inside were the hole should run back through the governer support, but only does down to the feed area under the pan?? Were it normally says Power glide on passenger side of tranny, it says nothing, the pad is cast but not stamped. All other ribs, vents, tranny line etc look to be in the normal spot

Can This case be used?
What is this thing?
I havent much experiance with GM transmissions..But I dont think its a turbo of some sort.

Could you possibly post a pic? It might help in identifying it.

I think they call it a M38 it was in like some BPO. It will still work ok just half to drill the holes where they belong....

I have a powerglide that does not say powerglide on the side. Not sure why but it don't. I know it is a glide cause I had it built for my car and nothing else was different.

I have never seen one, but GM made a manual shift PG, and may not have all the holes drilled like an automatic version.

IS THE BELL HOUSING A CHEVY BOLT PATTERN OR A B.O.P. PATTERN?
COULD BE A SUPER TURBINE 300 WHICH WAS A B.O.P. 2 SPEED.KIND OF A CROSS BETWEEN A GLIDE AND A T-350.

It may be a rear pump glide

Does it have round holes in the bell???

I wonder why that is? You would think the casing for the case would remain the same...strange.
