I bought a complete engine from meandean and he said in his ad and on the phone that everthing came with it. Well, when i received the engine he didnt include the zoomies like he said he would, and he pocketed the nearly $400 for shipping also.

I crated and delivered the engine to the shipping dock and did all the leg work for the shipping (for free). I also covered the shipping costs $387.00 and ate $400 dollars in exchange as the Canadian dollar was stronger at the time. After the deal was done Ben asked to have the zommies as he consider them to be included in a "complete engine" as I had advertised on RJ.

Long story short we had no plans to use the zommies in question other then for mock up so I agreed to send them if he covered the shipping about $80. Since this conversation/offer I have recieved several nasty e-mails, calls from Ben calling me a liar and so on and still no $80.

Ben you saved $1787 on a $9800 engine I can't do anymore, if that makes me the bad guy so be it.

If the zoomies were in on ad and everything was suppose to go why werent they shipped the first time ? As a seller you have to be able to take a guy wanting to buy for less if you didnt want to sell for less you didnt have to ? right ? Also as a out of states seller you should of covered yourself on exchance rate. If it was me and I said everything goes in the ad and forgot to send zoomies I'd send them on my own dime. Just my 2 cents

Thanks for the feed back, but the zommies were never part of the deal. The picture in the ad showed my whole car. I sent him a complete engine injection hat to pan, all sfi shields related to the engine, blower belt, fuel lines, and pump, dist, wires, plugs basically all componets bolted to the engine except the exhaust and trans. Ben did not ask for the zommies until he had recieved the engine. It was at that time I agreed to send them (extra) if he covered the shipping. In reference to the exchange it had no effect on the deal and I did advise Ben of the exchange rate change at the time of the deal but agreed to eat it as I did not note which funds the transaction was to be done in. I made mention of the exchange in my responce as an indicator of my williness to work with Ben to make the deal go well. I think its disgusting that I have to waist my time and effort defending myself from someones lies. I gave Ben a killer deal on a great engine and then stood on my head to make it work for him. People will believe what they want to believe I can't and won't do anymore unless I'm compesated for it.

Howdy, the ad number was 972417, it does not mention zoomies, it say complete engine you name its there. In my opinion a cars exhaust is not part of the engine nor is the trans and conv. Everything else in the ad was shipped in perfect order at the price I stated in my last respounce. Just remebered when we pulled the engine I noticed the starter drive was cracked so on top of this all I gave him A BRAND NEW STATER.

In closing I was whilling to GIVE him the zoomies if he covered the shipping, as I has already covered the engines shipping. In fact they are sitting on the shop floor in a box ready to go, and have been for two months. Can't see sending them now would rather bolt them to my bench.

How is it people like this are able to post crap without recourse, I'm a sand up person who believes in being honest and trust worthy and this crap drives me around the bend.

Well, 3 replies from meandean and only the 1 from derek03. From what I've read, and what the ad stated, I see nothing wrong with the deal besides name calling. Derek03 please step up and show us your proof, where we can see both sides, or maybe the proof has been told already by meandean.

Your correct on its my first sale and Crap its hard to prove yourself as stand up when my head is attached to the wrong end of your spine. I'm on the payment deal I haven't recieved notice to do so as yet how do I get this done ASAP. I'm a bit hesitant on creating a file given all the internet stuff going on is there an opertunity to pay off line?

Sorry missed the comment about the buyer reporting the sale. I've gone ahead and done this will I now recieve payment instruction? I will also look at creating a profile so as to support the culture of the site. After all the BS with e-mails and phone calls from Ben I have to admitt I'm a bit reluctant to do so.

You know, other then this one issue I've met tons of geat people on the site. gotten some killer deals and have passed away countless hours surfing the ads. I'm not going to let this ruin something I've enjoyed for almost five years incident free. I would love to have the MEAN DEAN is a crook removed but understand the forum is here to protect the masses.

Sorry I havent checked my messages more often but i have been busy plowing snow & being a father for my 4- year old & working also, so here's an update. I negotiated the zoomies as part of the deal before I sent any money (his ad said "you name it ITS COMPLETE!") I sent 2 checks, one for the $8800 for the motor and one for $387 for shipping. Dean advertised on an U.S. website, I just assumed that everything was listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise noted (it wasnt). Dean sent the motor, but I also got billed later for the shipping that I had sent him money to cover at the point of drop off. I have called him numerous times on his cellphone but not once has he returned a single call.His number is 403-934-0556 so if anyone out there can get him to answer, tell him to call Ben and quit hiding behind a computer screen. That stuff about $80 and he'll send the zoomies, thats crap. He hasnt talked to me since he sent the motor. Check his other ad #1099177, the price listed doesnt specify canadian or U.S. funds either. Is he gonna scam someone else? Sorry for not replying sooner (lively& everyone else) but if Dean would have been more upfront with the exchange thing,and maybe returned ONE phone call I wouldnt have had to resort to calling names on an website forum.

Thanks everyone for your support, I wish I could say this was over but I have a funny feeling we will be hearing from Ben again. Of course you want to be done with this Dean, you havent answered or returned a single phone call since you got my money. Ya know, it would have been nice if you told me that you were going to pocket my shipping money to make up for the difference in the exchange rate, but you didnt. Imagine my suprise when I got billed for the shipping that I had sent you money to cover from your end (you better believe I made a copy of that letter before I sent it to you). I agree with Tom in his last post when he said that people need to comunicate better, but its hard when the other party wont even answer a phone. I dont think I am without fault here, ignorance on my part on the US/ CAN exchange complicated this issue, and my limited computer knowledge hindered me. And shame on me for taking a man for his word. Im done with this also, Ive ordered a set of zoomies from Jeg's, an AMERICAN company, that stands behind what they say. Sorry for the hassle Tom, I've learned that I need to not be so gulable and cover every angle to protect myself better. Im done.

Sorry it ended this way, you have a very differnt view and rememberence of what happened then I do, clearly this isn't about the exchange.

Not sure why you make mention of purchasing from an American company as you have, please know that we in the North (Canada) support you all in war and piece. My sister and brother-in -law are there now and have been since Aug 07. This isn't a Canada vs US battle, I feel the same thing would have happened if I lived across the street, all be it with a differnt out come I'm sure.

I have sold many things including motors, transmissions and complete cars. Your ad was perfect and never misrepresented anything. I commend you for the action you took on the headers.
