Best way to set a delay box

I'm new to electronics so I could use a little help.The box is already set to release at .1010.Should I try it like this or zero it out and go from there.And is the .1010 setting to release the button off the top bulb?
It's a Dedenbear box with the crossover feature.

It really depends on what type car you have and how it's powered. If it's a fairly heavy (3000+ pounds), basically stock suspended car, running between 10-12 seconds in 1/4, I'd start with 0.990 instead of 1.010 and leave off the top bulb. The top bulb will catch you off guard for a while, so don't change your box setting until you can react somewhat consistently. Otherwise you'll just be chasing the numbers around and getting frustrated. The quicker and lighter the car, the larger the numbers will be. Let's say after time trials that your average rt is .050. If you change that .990 to .950, your rt should be .010 if you and your car react the same as in time trials.....good luck and have fun!!

Get a practice tree. As cheap as $100. How much delay depends on the cars reaction and your reaction. I doesn't matter where you start, you just have to add or subtract time to get your reactions down. Shoot for .010 to .020 to start.

I agree with the info you gotten so far, but I would like to add that you will have a quicker reaction time after the sun sets. You will see the light sooner so don't be too quick to make adjustments during the daylight.
