My name is Scott Kosak and I am the founder of RacingIn.com.

After working creating Sponsorship programs in the world of NASCAR through the various Radio Networks, I decided to create a place where EVERY Race Fan could connect with ANY Racer and more than 1,600 Race Tracks across the United States.

So far, more than 950 racers (http://www.racingin.com/racer/) have created more than 100% FREE Racing Pages and over 175,000 race fans have searched through our track directory (http://www.racingin.com/track/)... and it's only been a little over 2 years!

Looking forward to meeting some great racers here!

Best wishes to all for GREAT and SAFE Racing!

Scott

Hi guys, I'm a relatively young rodder at 21. I work at a restoration shop and love to work on american auto's, and harley's. I am currently building a 85 c10 swb. I have a 355, 4bolt main block, balanced rotating assy., flat top pistons, 1.94" heads, and a Lunati bracket master cam. Still waiting on some finishing touches to get the motor done, and then on to finding a 5 speed to put behind it. stay tuned for a build thread.

No chains but when my wife bought it for me it had studs & a block heater with barely enough horse power to spin the tires on the ice. I have to park it as soon as the roads ice, break it out after they thaw. Sorry about the profile, will work on it.

Welcome aboard and 'Welcome home' from a brother in arms(Vietnam '70-'71)
I know exactly what you mean by being back in the World and bored outa your mind. Circle track will feed your need for that 'combat adrenaline' fix, guaranteed ! As you are used to, "Prepare-Practice- Prepare- Practice- Prepare" and you will do good and have a blast!
Legends would be an excellent choice as they are super cheap to run after the initial purchase price. Get a turn key car instead of a bunch of parts'n'pieces. That way you can focus on learning how to drive. Ask LOTS of questions ! Hook up with Legends racers at the track and you should be able to locate a running race ready hot rod. Don't take the racing tooo seriously tho ! HAVE FUN !!

Just signing on to say, hey, to everyone. I live in St. Charles, Mo. I just joined the RJ membership and looking forward to hanging out. Who knows, I may be able to learn something or even contribute somehow. I am a 14 yr. Chrysler(UAW) casualty due to plant shut downs. Serious income drop leading to serious slowdown on rebuilding my 69 MACH1. Still enjoying my 67 Mustang 351C, last timeslip 12.8@109mph. on street tires. 10 sec. runners would giggle and yawn, but I'm having a blast, being an old bald headed guy.

I dug up a few pics of my old 23 t altered... one hairy ride...this is the only car my wife urged me to sell it tore her nerves up each time I strapped up in this thing...sold it to a guy out of Kansas City who had NEVER driven a race car..only drag boats.

I spent several hours with him going thru the start up and shut down of the fuel injection. how to stage and how to safely get out of it thru the traps or before

then I looked at his wife before they left and jokingly ask does he have a good life insurance policy...of course it was a joke and all parties had a good laugh...I have heard nothing more from this man since the day he pulled it out of my driveway.

Never did get the car to hook well and it spun the whole track like you seen the old gassers do in the 60's and would still run in the 4.20 range at 170mph hazing tires and peddling.

1600lbs with 2500hp

also dug up a pic of me and the little one at one of the big NHRA events in Atlanta..
also me and her between rounds at Outlaw track..I was running 67 camaro that day

Hello everyone, I'm Russ from Lexington, IL. I'll be retiring in the next few months, and I'm looking for a project car to build over the winter. I've always been partial to Nova's, 1968-72's. I've been out of touch so to speak for quite awhile, so I'm looking forward to jumping right in and getting my hands dirty, and any and all advice I can get along the way is greatly appreciated. I've been pricing enclosed race car trailers as well. My 24 year old wants to get into stock car racing next year but I think we'll start him out in the 4 cylinder hornet class and see how he does. You all have a lot of information on here, so I'm going to start looking for a Nova project car, a 4 cylinder stock car, and an enclosed goose neck trailer. That should keep me busy for a while. Take care and I look forward to meeting you all. Russ

Welcome aboard !
re; hornet car. Go to the track you intend on racing at and see which year/make/model cars are running CONSISTENTLY up front. That'l' give you an idea of what works there. At the end of the season there will be a few cars for sale as the drivers are either building a new car for the following season or moving up a class. As usual, check these out thoroughly for build quality/safety/wreckage repairs, some will be ready for the crusher. Even though your boy is 'just starting out' you don't want a POS to start with and risk big disappointment. Circle track is a VERY high maintenance( for the car) sport. HAVING FUN is what it's all about, keep it simple and keep it fun.

PS; we are all picture junkies here on RJ so 'progress shots' are encouraged ! :D :D :D

heys guys! nice to hear newbe's are welcome to jump right in. I aint no racer from old but looking to build my 83 c10 shorty. Oh yeah....my name is charlie wizeldridge from Daytona Beach. I live in upstate ny right now due to employment. I HATE THIS WEATHER But atleast i see a nice pay check every week. anyway.... just bought a 9" rear and truck is headed for narrowed frame rails/4 link ect. I deff. gonna need some advice and direction on choosing parts. I just want to get the chassis and body complete for starters. truck has a tired 305/4 with headers. regardless of being tired the 305 is wimpy. I would like to go with 383 stroker staying in the street performance. I want to drive this truck more than i want to run 9's maybe after that faze i will want to go all out racing. I just finished a old school harley with big inch stroker engine. tons of cash into this bike. I may even consider selling this softail to finance building this truck...But then again i would have to pry my hands off this bike to do so. With that said...thanks for the invitation and hope to hear something good from you gear heads LOL.

Hello My name is Tony. I live in the Minneapolis area. I just joined racing junk about a week or two ago. I have been looking at the Big 8 Late models for sale. I worked on one(was called limited late model) when i was in high school 10 years ago back home in WI. I currently work on my buddies Midwest modified dirt car. I am not sure how soon i plan on buying but would like to get a car someday soon.

I am am old time drag racer (50 some years), but I am new to the Forum.

I came back to drag racing, in 2008 after an 11 year break. Been Top Fuel, Top Alcohol, Top Gas, and super gas racing. Now I am IHRA bracket racing in TOP.

I race a 73/77 Chassis Camaro with a 632, glide, 12 bolt, weighing 2500 lbs with my big A-- in it. I am from Pgh, Pa. I have used RJ for years, and build glides on the side.

How long were you off, doing your life's work? What are you racing now? Where are you from? Good Luck, be safe!

Hi everyone.

My name is Adrian. I work with PJ and the rest of the folks at RacingJunk as the GM, although I am based in our California office - not in MA like the rest of the folks. You might see me poking around here seeing where I can help to improve the new site for you.

I sadly don't get to the racetrack much, but I have a big Ford diesel pickup that runs in the mid 13's, and I try to get on my enduro bike and go out in the desert here as much as I can.

Been a regular visitor to RJ for quite some time. I'm trying to buy a 871 blower set up from add # 182578135.....He has been extremely hard to communicate with in all forms (text, email, phone calls). He keeps saying that he is going to call and he never does. I've had dialog with him again this morning via text message and again he says hes going to call but I have not heard from him.
Is there a chance you can look into this guy and see if he is a scammer?

New Lifters was claim. Used mushroomed really badly used , destroyed lifters sent. What person buys used lifters to put on a new cam? Absurd that used lifters were even sent wasting my shipping money as well. I think they call that mail fraud.

bbbentley
12-28-2017, 06:24 AM
I had a back and forth with the seller that asked, “you say you would not use the lifters, why? Are they rusty? Seller’s reply is,”..that they are not rusted, just a couple seemed like the plunger was tight and would not go down.” I am thinking to myself, I’ll disassemble each lifter and soak it in solvent.
At this point, I am still under the impression that they are “new” as advertised. Seller boasted that paper work was still with item. I don’t mind taking a chance on old, but new, lifters. I will not put used lifters into service. In fact, I believe the lifters in the box are not even the brand claimed, but old OEM put back in box when the Isky were taken out.

bbbentley
12-29-2017, 03:56 AM
Email to seller sent 12-26:

“Michael, got lifters today. I hope there can be an understanding between us and a return of my money sent and I just return these lifters.
When you advertised this item the ad clearly stated that the lifters were new. The lifters are clearly not new and not Isky either. Not sure why you would claim these parts and box new?”

No response as of today 12-29
Further evidence that seller is not being honest or trying to resolve this. Good thing I paid with USPS. I’ll start a fraud investigation today.

If someone can show me how to post pictures, I’ve got the evidence.

Harbone
12-29-2017, 04:44 AM

Now I am confused since the ad clearly states "I found an antique set of Ed Iskenderian lifters in my shop. The box has some age, but the lifters seem to be in ok shape. I would be hesitant to put these into service, though. I think that they would be better used by putting them on display in a man cave. They still have the original instruction sheet. Fit Pontiac, Chevy and old Fords. Local pick up, or will ship at your expense.(about $9.00)
"
I do not see anywhere in the ad that it says they are new????

Right at the top where it has location. Below that it says CONDITION- NEW
Statement that lifters are ok. Ok to throw away is what it should say. To say that they are ok means the are new or usable.
Sounds like you are taking the sellers side so no use in saying anymore. Probably your relative or buddy?

In all correspondences, never was the word “used” or “worn” used to describe anything offered for sale. I certainly have better things to use my money on than $50 for a box! And you are a Moderator? I guess you are the one to help since you can't read? Thanks a lot. (Sarcasm tempered by anger). Reread the whole ad and tell me if “ used” or “ new” is used in the ad?

No buddy or relative of mine but the line that clearly states " I would be hesitant to put these into service, though. I think that they would be better used by putting them on display in a man cave" Would have made think twice about using them in anything.
A brand new set of lifers from Jegs is $50, why take the chance on a set of lifters that are old and have no guarantee?
Box is cool though!

Further, I didnt know it was a moderator’s job to proselytize. You have no right to tell me what to buy or what to do with what I buy. But in case I ever meet you in public I’ll save these so I can tell you what to do with them.

And irrespective of anything else written in the ad, you refuse to acknowledge the word NEW used to describe the condition. With a Moderator like you, I can see why this site is full of scammer complaints

Seriously dude. I don't know you but if anyone around here could or would help a guy with a scammer it would be Chris. You jumping down his throat because you screwed yourself is asinine. Even if they were new they were still antique. Why would you think they were worth putting in an engine? You being through with this site is a good thing in my opinion. Of which we all have.

Mr. Balke, if you had checked your e-mail from 12/31/17, you would have seen that I offered to send your MO back once I received the lifters in the box. I will also send a check for the shipping that you'll incur for doing this. During our MANY e-mails back and forth, you should have noticed that I am NOT some BS'er. I have gotten a notice today from the post office that there is a package for me to pick up. If they are the lifters, I'll be sending out restitution immediately. Frankly, calling me a scammer is asinine, and threatening a fraud case is childish. You knew what you were purchasing. You should have thought this through initially. Have a pleasant day!!!

Hi everyone! I've been a long time lurker on racing junk, but just recently signed up for an account. I'm 28 years old and have spent the last 9 years in the military, but I've finally hit a point in life where I can pursue some racing dreams. Most of my racing experience is on dirt and street bikes, but now that I've got a little girl I'm planning to move to the 4-wheel world. It's mostly dirt oval racing where I'm at in the mountains of WV, MD, PA, so more than likely that's the route I'll seek. Anyway, I don't want to get too long winded on here. Wanted to say hello, and if anyone knows of a crew that needs a hand or possibly willing to teach me the ropes of the dirt world I'd appreciate a shout out!

Hello, everyone!

I joined because I might be selling some new and some used parts on here in the future. I recently got hired by a company to sell parts online. If this is against community guidelines, please let me know. I definitely want to respect what this site is all about!

I am also wondering if there are other sites like this where someone can list parts for sale? Please let me know if you know of others! I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, (https://askmodapk.com/)
One of my friends vijayallenraj, is a newbie who has just registered on team-bhp. Even though newbie posts are moderated, he isnt able to post anywhere. Is there a place where newbies should first post which will then appear in the forums, or do they use the normal forum tool to post a new thread?. Am just posting this on his behalf, can someone help?. The FAQ sections etc dont help much. Also, he is able to login, just not able to post. The support thingy doesnt work either.

Hoping to help out and get help, make business connections, and grow. Just wanted to make the intro and say Hi, check us out! Thank you
