I sent this hairball piece of shit 1000.00 on Oct 5th and havent gotten a serious reply or copy of an order back. Told him I wanted a refund three weeks ago and was told he had "too much money in supplies" to refund my money. NOW THE LINES ARE ALL DISCONNECTED! I would spend double on a flight from New York to Shreveport to find this asshole. This hairbag has cost me months of my life and something just shy of a heart attack. I hope he has pains in his chest like the knifes I feel in mine.

This does not excuse or make up for the problems but it's the truth. I have taken all of the comments about me and this business to heart and like I said I have learned a hard lesson from it and we have taken the steps and will continue to take steps whenever neccessary to fix the problems as they occur and hope that we make fewer people upset and take our ratio to a more respectable number (under 5%) We are going to stay in this business and in time maybe people will even recommend us to thier fellow racers to get their parts from. We have just finished moving into our new location and the biggest reason for this move was a better pool of perspective employees that have a lot of pride in what they do and how they do it. Nothing in this world is perfect only God holds that position and all we can do or anyone in this business can do is just to try harder to make people happy. Anyone who used a credit card to order parts from Bruis should IMMEDIATELY contact their credit card company. Get your statement out and fill out the section in the back stating that you did not authorize the payment and you have not received your order. YOU CAN ONLY DO THIS WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PLACING YOUR ORDER. I had the same problem with Troy for $1800 and got my money back by going to my credit card company. DO IT BEFORE 90 DAYS BECAUSE AFTER THAT HE GETS TO KEEP YOUR MONEY!

When I first started working for Bruis Glassworks, I relayed messages to customers from Troy, assuming all was true. I knew Troy prior to working for him. Boy was that an eye opening experience. One of his famous sayings was, " Sometimes in this business, you have to lie and tell'em what they want to hear ". I always disagreed. Anyway, it did not take long to find out how his operation worked. After realizing I wasn't being told the truth myself, and getting cussed out on Troy's behalf, I told customers exactly what I knew. Mr. Jimmy, I told you what Troy said. I also told you not to hold your breath. Now concerning, Linda, my mother, she told you the truth about mailing your refund. She mailed some of her personal items the very same day from the Hosston, Louisiana post office. Her personal items have yet to be delivered. I can tell you this, had you received your so called refund, it would BOUNCE. I am sorry for your frustrations and all the rest of you guys/gals. I'm sorry if I ever lied to any of you. I WOULD NEVER KNOWINGLY DO SO. I'm an honest person and was brought up better than some. Me and my husband having a saying we tell our kids when they, " If you'll lie, you'll cheat...and if you'll cheat, you'll steal.....and if you'll steal, you'll kill your moma......So we're not going to have any of it. I'm a firm believer that character speaks loudly.....if a person can't go on your word, you have NOTHING. You know, the kind of words you have a had shake on. Unfortunately all people don't have the same moral values. I think Troy has spoke loud and clear to many of you. Bruis had so much potential. They have no available funds, they are down to just a couple of workers, haven't had resin in a week. They are drowning in debt. Layed off long time employees and have not paid them there last 2 wks. Said his attorney told him not to for now, just pay current employees. They say they are filing bankruptcy. Maybe they are. Supposedly did that 5 months ago. Not sure if Troy's daddy has another $10,000 for him to file. See he borrowed this money, wrote the check to his attorney, and the check bounced. I understand that attorney will be coming after him soon. I doubt very seriously he can get another 10 to file. I don't think I have ever met someone who lies soooo much. And is convincing to everyone around him. To those around him, you believe him because you think he has given you no reason to doubt..... you have no clue. Lot of things best left unsaid.
Needless to say, I NO LONGER work there. AND I promise you I am not some disgruntled EX employee. I have a much better job and have surrounded myself with honest, God fearing people. No more stress. Have not been cussed once by a customer because of failed promises or product. You know why. Because my new, "real " employers know what it takes to run a business. You provide the product on time and customer satisfaction is an absolute must. And not ONE of my paychecks have bounced. Which by the way Troy, you will be hearing about soon. Just another lie to add to your long list, huh. Man of your word....right.
Bet Racing Junk gets a call from Troy crying and belly-aching about these post. Slander, blah blah. Seen him do it and even had me call trying to get post removed.
One more very important thing. Stephen Johnson and Adam, sorry can't remember your last name Adam, but you guys ordered some Vega stuff from Bruis while worked there. Vega was supposedly carbon fiber. Hate to tell you but you paid double the price for something it wasn't. It was not Carbon Fiber. Just plain mat laid thicker. He said you would never know. And it wasn't like you were going to have it tested.
Clyde (Tony) Leary, I am so sorry. I had no idea at the time we didn't have what was it?? Ventura?? package. Had I known I would have told you to run and get it somewhere else.
Just a word of caution to anyone wanting fiberglass racing parts.......go somewhere else. Even if it cost more. In the end, you will have spared yourself a lot of grief and frustrations. Just ask some of these guys one here. Or Pm me. I can tell you about his operation. How may of you have heard......man, we ran your part and it got stuck in the mold, or the mold is bad and I just can't let my stuff go out looking like that, we're having to rebuild the mold....or I promise you it will be worth your wait.... wait til you see it, you can send it straight to the paint booth, no sanding....and last one of many.......it's shipping out Friday......HAH...Good Luck to all.
P.S. To the ones who used a credit card. Even if it has been more than 90 days, you should still try to get money back through cc company. Seen many chargebacks come through that were way over 90 days old and they got their money back. Credit card company going after them personally.
And....I head he has a bench warrant out for him. Maybe they haven't got him yet because his daddy is state police. Makes you wonder how he can screw people over and over....and still get away with it. I think the days are numbered though.

heres the crap that showed up at my house after 6 months 150 phone calls then i went on every site i could started bashing the pos and then he sent this ,front end said this was his best work
front end was two inches wider than it was supposed to be and all told the front end and hood weighed 65lbs
i, wound up putting this front end in a large tree trimming grinder and that was the end of this pos.
it was funny how this pos screwed everybody and when i started making waves racing junk cancelled my membership.

Thankyou for posting this number of the Attorneys General office in Louisiana.Hopefully this will assist me in getting somewhere with Bruisglassworks.I order my parts in November of 2006 and was told I would have them in mid January of 2007.Here it is almost March of 2008 and I still don,t have all of the right parts.Been told everything you can imagine about why they are not here yet.The last communications I had when they answered the phone they said my parts were to be shipped January 25th of 2008,only a year after the original delivery date.He has sent me some of my parts over this year and three month period,but after shipping them they called me and said they were coming C.O.D. after I paid full price which was suppose to be shipping included to my home address.I ordered my parts from Troy and he said he could make and ship them as requested in mid January of 2007,still has not happened.I know now not to put as much faith in people that I am doing business with led by false promises & untrue statements.Its a shame that Troy has to conduct business in this fashion.Thanksagain

I talked with him this past fall and he was all goody goody. I asked if the Mustang body would fit my 1965 Falcon full tube chassis. He said without a doubt and if you buy it right now I will bring it to you myself. If it doesn't fit, no harm no foul, he would take it back with him.
Then he said send me 3100 bucks and I'll bring it up.
I asked him to put everything in writing and we had a deal. Never heard from him again.

From January of 2008 until March 18,2008 I never heard a word from Troy Bobbit and could not get anyone to return a call to me about my parts.Out of the blue,Troy Bobbit called me on March18,2008 and informed me that they were no longer in business and that between his attorney and him that they satified my order.He also said that he would like to start another company under a new name but thinks all of this negitive publicity he has received will hurt his chances of doing so. He only has to look at himself and what he has told people than he will know why he gets all the negitive publicity,the man doesn,t have a clue and probably never will.I hope someday he will see the light.To this day I still have not received the correct parts that I ordered in November of 2006 and it sounds like I never will.If you are in this same situation you need to take some action on your behalf.

No to your question as far as quality. I only ordered a 4 inch cowl hood, which came in and was lacking material in several major areas. Rather than send it back and lose everything, I re-shaped it and added new glass to it to thicken it up and strengthen the whole hood up. I would never recommend their product to anyone and have since found a better source.

I have some unresolved money issues with him/them on the last full page ad in Atlantic Racing Review I printed for them. All the phone numbers are dead. Also, those are the same folks that were changing their name to Southern Composites that gave a gift certificate for $250 that Gerald Dyer won at the banquet.

i actually recieved a phone call this morning from the attorney general and was told that Troy Bobbitt and the owner of Bruis Glassworks has filed bankruptcy and everyone that has a complaint on file will be recieving a letter in the coming weeks...if you havent filed a complaint ,your time is running out...it is up to you and you only to file a complaint or just sit back and let them slide with your money...chances are you will get nothing back,but you will still be named in the bankruptcy which is better than nothing at all...and yes,they ARE trying to do business under the name of Custom Truck Solutions

I hope the attorney general got that information from a reliable source, like the court filing system. He's been " filing " bankruptcy since August 07 but bounced the check to his attorney. He's done business under Custom trucks for quite some time now, believe me " I " should know. Just ask they guys at American Luxury Coach in South Carolina that he deals with. He stays on top of the beds because that's bigger money. They actually look real nice. They make them for several big truck dealers. Both business had great potential but was ran by the wrong guy. Troy just needs some honesty and integrity instilled in his heart. I personally believe he had good intentions in the beginning, got behind on bills and chose the wrong path with all of you. If there is a so called list, then anyone who got taken better get on it even if it's less than $100 BGW owes you. Good Luck to all involved.

I bought 2 bodies from this guy in middle of the year 2004.I got both of them but they weren't the best quality stuff you have ever worked with.One was a Chevy II body,I had to buy a steel donor car to cut the windshield cowl out of because they cut it out of the car.The other was a cutlass body and it was not real nice either but usable. The 2 reasons I used this guy was first he was cheap,second was I live in TN where Bruis Glassworks was started by a man and his wife in a little shop(barn) behind their house.Dewayne Bruis did nice work for the money when I called for the bodies he said he was in bad health and had sold it to some guys from LA. I called and got Troy on the phone and made an order in July he said about six weeks on both and needed half the money up front.I finally harrassed him enough and they were ready 2nd week of Oct. We went down and picked them up,got home started the build and found many problems with measurments and fitment but that is what happens when you go for cheap. I'm not trying to defend TROY or the mystery owner he kept calling simply T every time we talked just trying to defend Mr. Bruis and his wifes name. Sorry for all your guys bad luck and God will take care of the wrong doers on this earth. Thank you.

i bought a front end and doors for my tubechassis beretta from them a couple of years ago. the doors and the one piece rear fit perfect but i had them extend the front 6 inches and that was where my nightmare began. one side matched and the other was off 3-4 inches. then match that side and you guessed it....it caused the other side to be off 3-4 inches but at least i didnt lose all my money good luck guys

YA, SAME HERE. I ORDERED MARCH 07', WAS TOLD 4-6 WEEKS, GOT 70' CHEVELLE FRONT END AND WRONG HOOD (SENT FLAT STOCK) END OF MAY, I ONLY GOT IT BECOUSE IT WAS SENT WRONG (YEAR) TO SOME ONE ELSE IN D.C. I BELEAVE IT WAS, AND THE GIRL WHO ANSWERED THE PHONES FOR TROY GOT IT RESHIPPED TO ME IN ROCHESTER. I FINALY GOT THE 4" COWL HOOD AND DECK LID IN OCTOBER. IT WASENT THE BEST BUT FAR FROM THE WORST. HE STUCK ME FOR THE S & H ON THE HOOD & DECK LID, $175.00. I DONT MEAN TO BE RUDE BUT AT LEAST I GOT MY STUFF AND A EXTRA FLAT HOOD. BTW, I was told by a bankruptcy attorney, that he couldn't file until the taxes on the business were paid. Can't file bankruptcy on taxes. The taxes haven't been paid in about 4 yrs. Hope you guys get everything and then some. Got a feeling he's about to be in Brett Bowers shoes.

The only person I hold responseable for my not getting what I ordered or my money back is Troy. As a parent youy can show your child the right road to take but it comes down to your child taking to right path. Some find it more fun to take advantage of others then to do what is right. Troy will pay for his bad dealings. It will never be enough to repay the grief he has caused. Most of us racers can't afford to be taken to the cleaners. I am one that hurt because of paying for a product I didn't get. Let alone no refund like he said. Some lessons are harder then others. Oh well things work out one way or another.

Just a little update on Mr Troy Bobbitt. It it my understanding that he was arrested yesterday for issuing worthless checks (hot checks). It's just a matter of time before everything else catches up to him. His daddy bonded him out so he didn't get to spend the night with Bubba. To all that have lost money to him, maybe this will be one step closer for a little restitution. I understand there is a lot more to follow for Mr Bobbitt. Will let you know more when I find out.

After following this string for several months, I decided to go with Hairy Glass in Jacksonville, Fla for my new car.
I sent 1/2 ($2K) deposit to Tom West. In three weeks, Sandra called and said my body was in finishing. I sent the balance and received a call in less than one week. She found Old Dominion was $100 less than Wilson. I got the pro number, the body arrived a day sooner than expected, there was no crate charge and the thing looks great!
With so much bad you hear, I wanted to inject some good new for a change.
