How does Racing Junk make anyone send money??? You choose to send your money to a scammer. Now that it is all said in done, you want to complain here. Post the ad info. Tell us who the scammer is. Where did you send your money? Next time be a little more proactive to avoid scams.

I agree with the above except for the fact of calling the guy a moron. He might be but the administrator shouldn't call names. The internet is the greatest and also the worst place to shop. Its all on the honor system. Do your homework before you make a deal. If someone seems the least bit shady stay away. I do think there should be a little more done to protect the uninformed. There are stickies all over the place and pages of posts warning others of these scammers. The problem is that no one reads them until after the fact and then it's too late. How many guys do you see where their first post ever on the forum is a complaint that they got scammed. That first post could have easily been a question about whether anyone has done business with so and so. Then they would have gotten informed BEFORE they got scammed.

Also, those of us here in the forum have no control over the placement of ads. That is an open system where anyone can place an ad. Do your homework guys. It's called due dilligence. You owe it to yourselves. Get references. Use COD or an escrow service if you don't know who you are dealing with.

Now you can mark my word that someone will come on here having never read what I just posted and make his first post that says, "I GOT SCAMMED!!!"

I've been on this site for a while now and never knew this part of it existed until recently. That is why I said put a sticky at the top of each category with warnings. I make an honor payment when I sell something in addition to monthly dues. I have noticed alot of people that I've bought from don't make an honor payment afterwards. Also all of my friends that surf this site don't even know this section exists. I'm also a member of corral.net and scammers run rampant on there also but if you appear to be shady they will kick you off in a minute. I believe in zero tolerance.

If you live in an area where someone has been scammed, step forward and take some of our presious time and help out. I think alot of this would stop if these jerks knew we would all stick together to make this a better , safer place to have some H.P. fun, race, win, lose, build bigger faster or whatever your budget will allow. He is not a bad person, I have known matt for 25 years ( wow I am getting old ) but he is not a disohnest person by no means just got scammed by some assclown on here like alot of other people have. I would think that somehow racejunk could keep them from posting ad's on here I dont know but maybe they can not. If you can not then it maybe something you may want to look into. I do post ad's on here but I end up selling it on other sites and before I delete it from here I have posted that first. These post on here are suppose to be for helping each other out not arguing back and forth.

NO, I do not think that bbms1000 and placecraft1 are the same person, but at the same time I do not think they are here to serve this site any good considering the way they are acting and I do not care who they are....If they want to continue the way they are acting then IMHO they should excuse themselves from here and blow back into where ever it is they came from or else become a productive part of this site and be welcomed by all

I agree with the original poster - this site needs better control or a system to evaluate sellers easily. Buyers using this site should not have to dig through a listing and ask others to determine the seller is credible. I buy my parts else where instead of dealing with the cons this site breeds. This site has no control over sellers and that is why f'in scam artists & convicts flock to this site to rip people - wake up and take some owership of the issues this site has instead of point the finger back on people who use your site.

I have every right to post here and express my true thoughts - not politically correct bulls^^. I used this site to make PURCHASES ONLY - never sold a thing so no need to make a honor payment.....

Additonally, I got f'ed on this site by a mo&&&rf'7n scam artist so I have every right to b&&ch up a d&&n storm about the "potential" this site gives to scam artists. I did the leg work and made several calls and talked to a engine buuilder on here as well as his references - all checked out and I was comfortable providing the engine builder a deposit to start the build.... guess what..... no motor and out a 4g deposit.

A lawsuit and threat of felony criminal charges from the local police got the *****er to pay back $2500 so far..... still waiting on the rest back and my patience is growing short with this h88 b9090rd.

So again , to summarize - because anyone can advertise and sell on this site, without mechanisms (i.e. think eBay) in place to prevent fraud, you get all kinds of shady sellers on this site.(((it even Nigerians that can't keep the flies out of their eyes comes to this site to weakly attempt to screw people... I am sure someone at somepoint fell for their scam.

Anyways, blah, blah, blah - I can b*&*h and complain, but really the main factor here is I will not use this site because of the people on it. The only one losing out is the people that makes profits on the site. They are not getting my money......

I'd want a "clean" bill of health from a machine shop before I bought them if they are used.

I know what you are saying Matt I do work hard for what I get too,
But to be on the safe side of this deal,I'd have them checked out and only but them COD if it were me.

There are some guys selling useless junk on here,get a second opinion from someone with a reputation such as a machine shop,just a heads up for you.

And like I always say,You pay for what you get.

He is very well known. 8) I will also add I talked to a guy last night on a set of heads that Micheal Anthony tried to scam two day's ago, tried to sell him a set of Bi Chief heads, yes the same guy :idea: Like I said before nobody made me send money, do your homework. It is frustrating to be honest some times.This guy just won't quit. I do not understand, how he thinks he is not going to get caught. It maybe alot of work to check all the ads but when weeks go by and the same people are scamming over and over get them off the site and dont have there ads keep going on.

When people are scammed they get upset, like I said before we can't all save the world but united we stand and devided we get no where. Listen everyone, we all enjoy the same things Horsepower and speed or we wouldn't be here on this site. !!!!! Stick together and enjoy the speed in life, everyone will crash someday, scammers will total 8) I have enjoyed many nights searching for something new or a different combo, It is in my blood and won't leave. My father just pasted away from cancer and at 74 he still enjoyed going fast and life right to the end. I baught a 67 chevelle because we built two when I was 16. When he got sick it was fast, I thaught we could enjoy that but it didn't happen, at least a few more trips to town or around just to hear the sound. Now all I have are memories of the shop, and Dad saying listen to me kid I won't steer you wrong. He never did. !!! I'll get over my being scammed and move on. Just like another motor, crank, rod, just rebuild and get smarter. Hope everyone on this site does the same. Have a Merry X-mas and believe me, alls those scammers out there don't sleep like I do at night. Work hard, Play Hard and be Honest. I read and re read all the things that yous have been bitching about on this post about racing junk not wanting to take resposibility for the guys that scammed yous. Heres a good question for yous...If you bought something from a person who put an add in a newspaper...and it turned out that you got scammed because it wasnt what the person who placed the add described it to be..Do you freak on the newspaper or the guy that sold it to you? The newspaper has no control over who is and who is not a scammer, just like racingjunk has no control..hell...for that matter, whats stopping someone who's been scamming people to come up with a whole new name and profile and start all over again?

If anyone has to worry about being scammed its me. I live in Northern Ontario Canada and I buy stuff off racingjunk due to the fact that good race parts are hard to come by for a decent price in Canada..So far i have purchased a complete race ready 514 BBf with powerglide off a guy in Nashville, A Jr. Dragster off another guy in Massachussetts, A spare tranny off another guy in New Orleans, A carb off a guy in Kentucky and other misc. stuff like MSD boxes, shifters, distributors Etc. The hard part for me is trusting someone that lives that far away from me...But..before i send them any big amout of money i get to know them a little, phone them a few times, find out where they work and stuff like that...When i purchased the engine i even phoned the bank that the guy dealt with and talked to the manager to see what kind of guy I was sending my money to...So far I have dealt with some good stand by there word kinda guys (except for one guy...but i learnt quick not to send my money to him)

Dont forget guys, I have to trust most of these people to crate these big items properly and have them shipped to me also. (ya i know...sucks to be me for living in Canada...ha ha ha)

But if/when i do get ripped off...I would never expect racingjunk to come to my rescue because it was not racingjunk that ripped me off.

One thing though that i would really like to see on racingjunk is a post that we can go to that lists in alphabetical order all the people that scammed honest racers...sometimes to find a person thats a scammer you have to go threw anywhere from 1 to 10 pages and read a ton of posts to see if the guy your attempting to purchase something off has scammed someone else...then if it turns out that person is not a scammer, then his name can be removed by racingjunk staff...OR...we should all be forced to use our real names...that way if your in doubt if the guy is for real...phone the phone company and see if theres a guy with a specific name living in a certain city/town with a phone number..Then before the person is allowed to post anything for sale, racingjunk can accually check out the guys info to see if he is for real...Of course there will always be a few that slimes there way threw the cracks...but this might stop alot of the scamming.

These are just a few ways of making it alot safer for the guys that get scammed...And yes...i do feel for the people that get scammed out of there hard earned pay to some low life dick weed that only knows how to rip off good folks.
