anyone no the codes or no. for 327 motor in a 66 impala

i need to no the info that is found on a 327 block for a 66 impala. The car cam factory with a 2 speed, holley 600, and no air, i would like to restore it but am not sure of what codes or numbers are suppose to be on block, anyone no what they are or where i can get them, any help would be great...thanks alot

Check Alan Colvin's Chevrolet by the Numbers Books. It should be a 275hp 327 with a HCH Suffix code. It should use block casting numbers 3858174 or 3858180. Block casting numbers and date codes are on the belhousing area and the build and vin codes are usually on the front right corner pad.

the horsepower code should be HC for a 2sp glide 66-68, with ac it would be HF. note that chevy did not use a 600 holley for that engine. 2barrel or quad.
