What is the Better Head to Run Open Or Closed for a Tall Deck 427 BBC?

I've been looking towards the Oval Port 3904390 98 CC BBC Heads.
Anyone have any Advice on which is best to use?

Will be running a Dual Carb Tunnel Ram,4.25 Stroke Crank,Used to the SBC Scene but want to Move up to the Big Block now.

I've got a 91' Chevy S-10 that I would like to Build up and Run Street/Strip.

Thanks, all Help is Greatly Appreciated.

If you are building a 496 you need a square port head.

I would have to agree with the above reply, you need more air to feed that 496 than those closed chambered peanut port heads can deliver, those heads are more suited to smaller CI motors like a 396 or 427. Not saying they wouldn't work but it would be like trying to cram a gallon of gas thru a straw.
Invested in some good retangular port heads with open chambers.

The 840 Casting Heads?

If you don't want an aftermarket head then the GM 990 head would be a good choice.I'm not familiar with the 840 head maybe someone else might be.
