So i am used to plain old edelbrock manifolds. What are the water ports for on the top on the manifold. Can i just plug them? Should i just plug them or??

Some people run a bypass from the front to the rear to equalize water temps across the cylinder head and prevent hot spots.
I've always just plugged them and never had any problems. But then again all those exta fittings and hoses all over the top of the engine looks pretty cool.
Here 's alink to a simialr thread about the same question on yellowbullet

Hope this helps.

I have always just plugged them but you can benefit from them if you have hot spots. Run a piece of small dia tubing from them forward of the thermastat housing or return outlet and join them to the return line like in a water manifold or an accessory filler neck and they will vent air to the return and help give more even cylinder cooling.
