HEADER TUBE LENGTH

I am building a set of headers and am wondering what is the correct way of measuring the primary header tube length.If you measure the outside of a bend it is longer,measure the inside of the bend it is shorter,put the tape measure through the tube it takes the shortest route through the tube so what is the right way of getting the correct length.Thanks

measure along the tube with a flexable measureing tape, (through the tube, not on short or long sides of tube! ) thats how ive done it!!! David. through the tube I mean along side the tube!!! Hope this helps, if not call me- 585-787-9639,or 585-787-1130-shop. Ive built many sets.
