For me, I've nothing to brag about. Haven't raced anything in a few years, and the last time I took my 97 S-10. 2.2, auto ran consistant 18.2 at 70mph if memory serves. I have done a few tricks to free up some power, but haven't made it to the track to see what it does now.
Anyone have anything slower?

I know I'm not the fastest but here it goes,
In the 1/8, best sixty foot has been 1.36 w/ best et of 6.02 @ 103 mph

I got a little joke kinda here for ya.
There were 4 bulls standing in the pasture admiring a herd of cows at the foot of the hill.
Two young bulls and two older bulls,
The two young bull said to one another lets both "run" down the hill and "inject" them cows,of coase they both ran down there and done their dutys on one cow each, then they were done and had to go lay down.
The two older bulls said to each other lets "walk" down the hill and do all them cows. :P :P :P

I found this car right here on RJ.

i got you ash the red chevelle in the back ground of the blue duster pic ran 17.2 in the 1/4 307 2barrel
Soooo... lemme git this straight. If you ran a 17.2 with only two barrels, then in theory adding two more should cut your time in half, an 8.6! Out of a 307 no less!!! You're just trying to make me feel better, Thanks!

Well, the secret is out. I'm in the process of testing a new carb for a major manufacturer. It'll be a new 11 bbl double pumper.I'm looking at dipping into the 5.5's to 5.6's in the 1/4. Preliminary testing has shown very good results above 8800 rpm. But I'm having some problems below 5000. Any suggestions?

that's norwalk right? hows the pits and stuff since they paved up there? are they being strict since switching to nhra? i haven't been up there this year and am just curious! 8)
shawnp
05-20-2007, 05:06 PM
Yes, it has been a little stricter this year. They try to walk around and tech everyone right now because the tech stickers are not in. They said you can get tech for the year which will take 30-45 minutes to go over the car front to back or on a 3 month period which is the standard look around to make sure things look right.
The pavement makes the place look larger then it already is. It was always overwhelming to be on the starting line and look down track, but all the new additions make it more impressive.

05-20-2007, 05:09 PM
my car is too fast to race up there, what i mean is, i wouldn't pass tech as i don't have a chute, window net is out dated etc, so i guess i will hafta update or wait till the end of the year to race on a real track :D looks like ya got a nice dragster there though!

Trust me, Bader is not turning a dollar away. They will tell you what you need to change before running again at the track. A lot of tech warngings being handed out, but no real enforcement that I have seen as of yet.

Sounds good, look forward to seeing them. Know what you mean about the upteenth time, mine too! I'm shooting for about 2800 lb. with driver, so I have allot of cutting to do, these cars were heavy from the factory. This is my old car which I built back in 1995 but have now sold. It was a very fast car 12yrs ago & is still a fast car now. The record was 10.36 by a blown car when I entered the field & proceeded to destroy the existing record. I had other drivers protesting me & had regular cylinder volume tests performed to make sure I wasnt cheating.

If there is one thing I've learned over the years, it's about getting the right combination of components that work together. We really need more info. about your engine and components to give you a realistic estimate of performance.

Beretta Door car 25.4 chassis, 582 tall deck Chevy, all motor on gasoline, 12 degree profiler heads ported by Steve Schmidt inc, single dominator carb 1400+ cfm, engine is NOT MILD at all. TH 400 trans with 2.10 first gear hand shifted to a 3.90 rear gear and 102" roll out D1 good years. 2360# runs 7.62 ET at 180 to 187 MPH, 4.82 1/8 at 146.5MPH, 60' 1.090 in 3200' corrected altitude. Bracket race at the midmichiganmotorplex in Stanton MI, in the no box class. (I do not run for points, just satisfaction). My wife and I are the whole crew and she video tapes every run from the stands. drivingmissDD has VHS video of 64 passes I made in 08.
Hoping to blow the chassis sticker off the cage this year, expecting 7.49 ET at 187 in 09 or else..........

I guess Gimli Man. is a little far to come, thats an hour north of Winnipeg. I've raced there and their track is great. Its 700ft above sea level and usually good air which makes for some quick times.

Peanut butter and honey sandwiches are great for a long trip. The peanut butter will stick to your ribs and the honey will increase your energy, lol
Ya it would be a bit of a drive. I would love to race at some southern Ontario races when the big boys are there to,but ya,its just to far to go. Like our Canadian Anthem says "far and wide"!
