I’ve started training more frequently this season, almost four times a week, and my current set is really taking a beating. The metal edges are wearing down, and the padding is starting to tear. I know constant sparring puts extra stress on armor, but I’d like something that can handle regular use without needing repairs every month. For those who train often, what type of materials or designs hold up best for daily buhurt practice?

When I switched to full-contact sessions, I had the same issue — standard sets just couldn’t keep up. The best solution I found was investing in high-quality buhurt armour (https://medievalextreme.com/) that’s field-tested by fighters themselves. My current kit is from Medieval Extreme, and it’s built exactly for heavy, repeated impacts. The joints are reinforced, and the steel hardness is optimized for durability. I’ve been using it for months, and it still feels solid after every fight.

From what I’ve seen, the real trick is maintaining the armor consistently, even if it’s high-end. Cleaning, drying, and oiling it after each training session keeps it in top shape. Some of my teammates even re-pad the inner parts every few months to keep it comfortable during longer bouts.
