I have a Oldsmobile omega with a 431 big block Chevy it's has 4.88 gears Powerglide trans and a 8' ati converter. Also running 275 gen 1 drag radials. Best pass has been 7.19@95 mph had a 1.58 60ft.
Somebody has suggested changing the gear to a 4.10 or buying a new converter. Combo did go 6.60s in a big tire car and the other car was heavier.

If I were you, I would post this in the Forums on Yellow Bullet. Much more help there. If you are not a member, sign up, it's worth it.
I don't think changing to a 4.10 gear is the right way to go in the 1/8 mile unless you are running out of RPM or spinning a lot. Since you have an ATI converter, I would confer with them on maybe tuning the converter to your combo. That car should be low 1.40 60 ft.

If that combo really went 6.60s in a heavier car, I’d be looking hard at the converter before changing gears. A 4.88 with a Powerglide is already pretty aggressive, and your 1.58 sixty-foot suggests the car isn’t leaving as hard as it probably should.
The 95 mph also seems a little low compared to the ET, which can point to the converter not being happy with the current vehicle weight, tire, or engine characteristics. Before spending money on a gear swap, I’d get some data on launch RPM, flash stall, and trap RPM.
A move to a 4.10 might help if the engine is blowing through the converter or running out of gear, but without RPM data it’s mostly guesswork. If it were mine, I’d verify converter performance first, then decide whether the gear ratio is actually the limiting factor.
