Vintage racers and vintage cars that represents some of the greatest eras in motorsports history will be on the track at Lime Rock Park on Memorial Day weekend. SVRA’s Memorial Day Motorsports Festival will honor the great racing traditions of Lime Rock on this holiday weekend. A lot of Trans Am and America’s road racing history was created during the Memorial Day races in Lakeville, CT.
Legendary drivers like, Gurney, Posey, Follmer, Andretti, McLaren, Shelby, Hobbs, Brabham, spent Memorial Day at Lime Rock; their names and others will be seen on the hoods and side panels of numerous vintage race cars throughout the paddock. The paddocks will be filled with cars that contributed to some of the best history of Trans-Am, USRRC, and other sports car racing series. All SVRA classes are invited. Friday is an open test day with the optional Driver Orientation/Track Orientation Program (TOP/DOP). The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli and the IGT Series will share the weekend’s festivities. The Sunday quiet traditions at the track will be celebrated with a Hagerty Show and Shine car show. Numerous special events are being planned and will soon be announced.
