A straight body, cool color combo, loaded interior, and plenty of investment in a true 4x4 prowess all come together on this 1990 Chevrolet Blazer K5. And the enhanced fuel-injected V8 and rebuilt overdrive transmission make this useful for the street or trail.
The big wheels and tall stance is the definition of outdoor elegance on the big Chevy's squared-off bodywork. Given the capabilities of these trucks, no one would be surprised if this one lived most of its life off-road... except its exceptional condition tells us it has seen far less action. In fact, this one has really been given the right solid investments. The two-tone Only Black and Gunmetal Gray looks great, especially with the distinctive red pinstripe to separate the colors. This was part of a professional respray in 2014, and proper garage care even since then means this one can look good for more than just its stance. And speaking of that prowess, it's a terrific mix of style and substance. The lifted suspension has bright Mickey Thompson wheels, and the chrome push bar on the bumper also integrates a Warn 8000 winch. Add in the wide towing mirrors, proper trailer hitch, and a wiring plug, and you'll find this sharp-looking classic SUV to be more versatile than some modern ones out there.
1990 was the second to last year for these vehicles, which means this one has some of the most creature comforts of the nearly 20-year run. You recognize this the moment you feel the relaxing high-back bucket seat. The plush velour cloth feels excellent on these, and it's the same way on the rear seats and door panels. The grippy steering wheel, tilt column, and factory center console mean you'll love long trips behind the wheel. Plus, the power windows, power locks, cruise control, upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input, and ice-cold R134a air conditioning keep you comfortable everywhere from the interstates to the trail. But we really know your true reason for loving a Blazer like this, is the idea that on the right day, you can remove a few bolts and have a complete open rear section for a very cool convertible pickup.
Under the hood is a fuel-injected version of Chevy's robust fuel-injected V8. While it's unknown if the odometer reflects this Blazer's full actual mileage, it also does not matter much. We're told there have been some more recent solid investments in this powerhouse. It includes the 350 cubic-inch V8 being rebuilt about 30k miles ago. It's said to have been bored .30 over, given large injectors, and upgraded the camshaft. There's also an aluminum radiator and headers feeding the dual exhaust. The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is also said to have been rebuilt about 20k miles ago and now has a mild shift kit. It makes for a robust and powerful setup that works with the two-speed transfer case, Warn locking front hubs, Bilstein 5100 shocks, and a Rough Country six-inch lift for terrific 4x4 ability. You even have a Detroit locker rear end, low gearing ratios, and BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain tires to really dig into the rough stuff. But as much as this all sounds like a great way to drive through the dirt, the overdrive transmission, dual steering stabilizers, power steering, power brakes, and front disc brakes make this a pleasant 4x4 for all occasions.
This is a carefully maintained full-size Blazer that knows how to look great no matter if it's at the boat ramp or cruising downtown. Call today!!!
