The last year of the C-3 with a 4 speed. New crate long-block 350 brings even more fun to the shifting world. Unique color combo and very good condition gives us a sweetheart of a classic. Highly refurbished by a reputable Corvette house, the car shows very nice and performs like new.
Believed to be a California car her entire life, she’s been driven and enjoyed. Under her current ownership, a revitalization has been performed, bringing us a near new old car. Newer paint, many new parts and a goal to leave her like stock gives her beauty and dependability. It is all about that manual and just made it fun.
Beige exterior is quite elegant and a repaint was performed in 2018. Urethane components classic to the late C-3 cars have been replaced with fiberglass units at the bumpers to smooth those C-3 lines. Glass T-tops have been rebuilt by a professional shop. Skins and rims bring her profile and complete the sanitary, smooth look.
Simply stunning is the Sinibar (red brick) interior. Clad in vinyl, she was a complete OEM kit-based rebuild in 2018. Retro-modern stereo keeps the stock looks but brings Bluetooth to the audio. Gauges and accessories operate, just a couple of little items keep them from perfect.
Crate long-block was provided by Jegg’s Performance Parts and has approximately 1000 miles on her. All upper components are reported to come from the original L-81 motor. Bearings, bushings and CV joint replacement rebuilt the entire rear suspension including those testy control arms. Ball joints and steering components refreshed the front. Installation and suspension repairs and upgrades were performed by Coast Corvettes.
A very complete and quite critical review was completed by an independent third party inspector. Yep, he was tough and hopefully impartial and noted some items that our Owner questions. A bit critical of the newer paint, he noted ‘filler’ applied to a fiberglass car – hummm. Mechanically, he noted some seeping oil at the engine. You’d believe that there were major challenges, but an in-depth read leaves one to believe he was just being very, very thorough. And her performance was just grand.
Nearing it’s end, the C-3 Corvette was Chevy’s longest-running series of the iconic American sports car. The government neutered their horsepower by more than half, so luxury became the focus. Keep that luxury, add a much more fun motor, sharpen that stunning interior and seat yourself next to a stick and above three pedals, well, it really doesn’t get much better than that!
