For sale is a 1980 Camaro that has been set up for drag racing. The interior is gutted and a 6-point roll cage is installed.
The body is in decent shape. I took pictures of the two issues I saw – behind the passenger wheel opening and where the quarter panel joins the roof on the passenger side.
The windshield is cracked and will need to be replaced. The side windows and rear window are fine other than peeling sun tint film on the rear window.
The rear end is a 10 bolt with traction bars. Not sure what kind of differential is in it.
The trunk has a battery box and a small fuel cell (manufacturer unknown). There is also about a 4” x 6” rectangular hole cut into the trunk floor that will need to be patched (see pic).
The Camaro does not come with a hood, but there are dzus fastener tabs on the fenders to attach a fiberglass hood.
The Camaro does not have an engine or transmission.
The tires are junk and will not hold air very long. The wheels are just factory steel wheels.
There are a few holes that look like they were plasma cut into the frame in front of the engine mounting brackets. I have no idea why someone would have done that, but they will need to have patches welded in.
I am listing this for a friend who lives in North Phoenix and has a clear title in hand for the car. The car is being stored at my house in northwest Mesa if you want to take a look.
