The car started with at Kelly Moss Racing in 1989. Kelly Moss Racing had campaigned it in IMSA Firestone Firehawk racing from new.
It started as an '89 944S2 street car then converted to race by Kelly Moss. It raced under the number of 07 with its sister car, #7, which won the 1990 championship with Jeff Purner driving.
Porsche took notice of the success of the 944S2 and produced the 944S2 Clubsports for the 1991 race season. The correct title of these cars were the Porsche 944S2 Firehawk Super Seven.
The car was retubbed in around 2005.
I pursched the car in 2014 and started the restoration with the LS3 engine conversion being part of revamping.the conversion was performed by Porsche specialist Matt Shaw in Nashville Tn
