Selling for a friend who purchased this rebuilt 4-speed transmission several years ago for his 67 Barracuda. It remained wrapped up until l snapped a few photos recently. Never used or even bolted up – zero miles.
-This is considered a “short” tailshaft 833 – it is 23 3/16″ inches from where it mounts to the bellhousing to the end of the transmission tailshaft housing.
-Casting number 99129_H: the space and H after the 99129 means it is a post-69 transmission.
-The 2B470727 stamping: the “2” before the “B” stands for 1972. The numbers after the B are vehicle vin numbers.
-The PP833___3986 stamping: (The second “3” in PP833 is faint.) The 3986 decodes to June 26, 1972 using Chrysler’s “10,000-day calendar” in which day one was July 29, 1961. Must have seemed like a good idea at the time to use that goofy system.
