Three coats base; four coats clear with two wet sandings- make this beautiful Royal Knight shine better than new! Meticulously restored by its first and original owner- it was his first new vehicle ever. After locating it again several years ago, restoration commenced allowing for some resto-mods along the way. Practically everything was replaced, rebuilt or renewed- from the suspension bushings to sand blasted and epoxy painted frame; from new-old-stock hub caps to a new interior; practically nothing was left untouched. Topping it off is a two inch cowl hood, bed cover with spoiler and a ground effects package (can easily be removed) making it an El Camino that stands out from the rest. Has won Best El Camino, Best of the 70s, Best GM at local car shows.
Powered by a low mileage 355 with a new Comp cam and roller rockers, the vehicle cruises effortlessly with a TH350 automatic (mild shift kit) and stock gearing. The heads also had new valves, guides, springs and are topped off with a new Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and carburetor followed by powder coated long tube headers and dual exhaust. Adding to the driving enjoyment is a Dakota Digital dash along with a custom fit CD stereo. It is also equipped with power windows, brakes, steering; cruise control and air conditioning.
Since restoration, the owner has driven it less than a thousand miles in the last five years. That’s right, less than 1000. He has other cars and vintage tractors to play with! Hopes are someone else would like to purchase the El Camino and enjoy driving it more than he has had time to. Receipts and the original build sheets are available. Only items left for completion are an AC recharge and front end alignment. All bushings, tie rods, springs, air shocks are new. Some extra parts available are original starter (new hi-torque mini-starter installed), few misc and and an extra NOS fuel tank. Tank on vehicle is new as is the sending unit.
