1970 Chevelle SS Restomod 6-Speed
Build sheet confirms real SS car with black paint, white stripes, white bucket seat interior, cowl induction hood, 396 big block, 4-speed. Frame off restored with 150 test miles. Rust free and laser straight Virginia car with a stunning black finish.
Engine specs: All aluminum 454 cubic inch mark VI big block ZL-1 crate motor. GM produced 200 of these engines with Ram Jet injection. Compression ratio is 10.2:1 with oval port heads. Aluminum 4-bolt main block, solid lifter roller cam with roller aluminum rockers. Injection was removed for a Edelbrock air-gap RPM performer intake, which is black powder coated. Carburetor is an 850 CFM double pump HP Holley. Fuel comes from a stainless steel fuel tank, stainless 3/8 line to an electric and mechanical Holley fuel pumps. Vintage Air polished accessory front runner drive belt system with a 140 amp alternator. MSD supplies the ignition system. Engine make 525 HP on the dyno with 493 ft/lbs of torque at 4250 RPM. Highly detailed engine.
Options include: AC. 6-speed stick, power windows, AM/FM stereo radio, bucket seats, console, tilt wheel, date coded tinted glass, Dakota digital instruments with LED lighting, LED converted tail lights for safety, power steering with a quick ratio steering box, power 4-wheel Wildwood disc brakes with 6 piston from calipers. Adjustable coil overs, Global West front & rear suspension with tubular control arms and heavy duty sway bars, 17x8” Alloy front wheels & 17x9 rear wheels mounted on Nitto 50 series radial tires, stainless steel brake lines and a working cowl induction hood.
Transmission specs: 6-speed Tremec Magnum with a McLeod dual dis hydraulic clutch and a Lakewood quick time safety bell housing. Electric safety solenoid for a reverse lock out activated by the brake peddle
Rear axle specs: Moser 12 bolt posi with 33 spline axles and 3:73 gearing. Aluminum cover and powder coated.
Exhaust specs: Hooker titanium pro comp 2” tube headers hooked to a 3” stainless full exhaust system with Flow Master Mufflers and factory exhaust tips.
Body specs: All new GM NOS sheet metal including quarter panels, front fenders, trunk lid, cowl induction hood, wheel moldings, stainless trim, grill and bumpers. Front bumper re-plated because of poor GM chrome. Trunk & floor pans are rust free and original.
Testing specs: Runs & Drives Excellent. Every power option works and performs like it should. AC blows cold air. Drives amazing with no shakes, vibrations or rattles. This car handles like a dream and is fun to drive. Absolutely stunning paint and restoration with no expense spared, $185,000 into the build. Have paperwork, as I built this vehicle at my shop. Featured at Barrett-Jackson 2017 northeast auction and did not hit reserve.
