Motor will need a Hone, a set of .937 key way lifters and possibly pistons to match current bore in block, or use new pistons in your block/new block and hone your block to fit them. I can get you a new big M block and used lifters if byer would like. I was waiting on a different block with a raised cam location and wider pan rails to put this motor back together in since last September to try and do some different stuff to look for more power, no ETA on when that block will be available (Dart Big M Pro 9.8” deck) Nothing is wrong with current block at all. Due to the fact I cant get that raised cam block and me relocating to the South, I’ve decided to sell my world record holding motor. It is currently disassembled and at Mid South Racing Engines in Tennessee. Will be picking it all up still disassembled in the next few weeks. Or Buyer can pay to have it assembled by Ian Landies at Mid South Racing Engines.
Conventional headed 589” BBC has been 4.693 @ 153.81 @2905lbs (efi), 4.697 @ 151.65 @ 2915lbs (efi) and 4.691 @ 144 @2850lbs (carb) All passes made on a 275 drag radial. Current world record holding engine for an Naturally Aspirated drag radial combo. Would make a stellar nitrous combo.
Motor was never on an engine dyno after EFI swap but estimated to make 1420 to 1440 at the crank based off ET and weights ran at various track and various conditions. It was put on a chassis dyno with 2 pulls to 9000 made 1180 rwhp at 9000rpm with a 8300rpm loose stall converter. With a 2.800” carb and before cam changes the motor made 1395hp and 926 ft lbs on the first pull to 8500 rpm on bob book racing engines dyno; before dyno had issues and we were not able to run it to max rpm motor peaks at 9000. Runs 8300 to 9700 normally. EFI swap and cam changes picked up ET and HP based on improvements with ET and MPH in 2017 and 2018
