About Me -
Member for: 9 years, 9 months, 26 days
I first started racing in 1984 at SIR in Saskatoon with a 67' Camaro. My dad had a Husky service station and he taught me everything I know. He loved to work on cars. The 67' Camaro had a 427BBC and ran 12.6,then I sold the Camaro body and built a 57' Chevy with the same 427 and ran a 11.2 but I've always wanted to race an altered. I always thought they were so cool looking so in 05' I bought this one off Racing Junk. It has an Enderle alcohol injected 434sbc and runs the best of 8.13sec at 163mph.
I love Tri-fives and wanted a big cube 56' so I found a Reher-Morrison 555 BBC that "Murray" had forsale here on Racing Junk(great guy to deal with)and installed it in the 1956 Chevy roller I just bought(March/08 from Nevada)from Racingjunk. I'm currently racing both and the family loves it. UPDATE: I sold the turnkey 23T-altered and 56 Chevy as a roller and kept the 555 and trans. I bought the red 57 showin in My Cars,Race Cars section and install the 555 and bought a Rossler Turbo 400 which has netted me a best of 8.02 at 171mph with a short time of 1.13 seconds with a 175 shot of nos. MAN that 7 was soooo close, I wanted it BAD!!! Ah screw the 7's I also purchased a blown alcohol 555ci 14-71 for the 57 next year! Can we say sixes!!!
I also have a 57'Chevy,73'Barracuda,66'Mustang,68' Camaro(project) in my collection and I race my 69 Camaro grocery getter once in a while.
My dad bought me the 66'Mustang in 1977 for $500.00,it was my first car. I remember we took it for a test drive and he smoked the tires off the thing. We laughed so much,so he bought it. I'll never forget that! Yup..I still have it and it still smokes the tires! It'll be a hand me down to my son.
The man I looked up to the most,my hero,my best friend,my dad went to be with the Lord on November the 9th at 4:03pm 2008. He will be greatly missed but I know one day we all will meet again. I feel so great full and fortunate that I had a dad to teach me everything in life and I will honor and cherish that and pass that on to my son and daughter.
