'06 Dad (crew chief :-)has been watching racing for over 45 years now. Some friends and I did build a street stock back in the early 70's but didn't get very far as it only lasted 1 season. So I was mostly a spectator until my son got old enough to race karts in 1999. We had a blast and always thought we would be in sprint cars someday as we attended the races at the speedway every Friday night. My son Jordan (driver :-)secured a sponsor(Red Pepper Mexican Restaurant)which allowed us to make the jump last August and we are looking forward to a great year of racing in '07.
'07 Update. The '07 season had it's ups and downs (literally). We ran the NOSA (Northern Outlaw Sprint car Association) circuit based in the north central plains states of North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota with a race in Manitoba and Saskatchewan Canada. We traveled to 38 of the 43 scheduled races in '07 and finished in 8th place in points in a field of 56 competitors and where awarded the Rookie of the Year award for '07. All in all a successful season even though we suffered a couple of hard roll overs and a few other "unfortunate" wrecks but we made it and are ready for the 2008 season.
Just an added note: In 2006 and 2007 we ran an 87/40 Schnee chassis powered by a 410ci Gaerte aluminum engine.
'08 was a good year for us but we had mixed results. We learned more on setup and fine tuning the car but we also suffered a few more unfortunate wrecks again this year. One wreck was when we were leading the feature and we were passing a lap car and he took us out:-(. Another when the World of Outlaws where in Grand Forks and we timed 18th fastest in hot laps when the RR torsion bar stop came off and we wrecked before we even got a chance to qualify :-(. But all in all we had a good year. This year we ran a XXX Chassis with a red paint scheme and the same Gaerte 410 engine as last year. Because of the high cost of gas we missed more races than last year and that hurt us in the standings as we finished 9th(2 points out of 8th)in the final point standings out of 54 racers. We hope to find more sponsorship in '09 to allow us to attend all of the NOSA races and with a little luck contend for the championship.
Bio hasn't been updated in awhile. Hope to soon.
