I have been actively involved with racing since I was 2 years old. The only tracks I have listed are the tracks I have worked at, or competed at. So they are special to me. My childhood included having a coupe bodied modified in the yard with engines being built and maintained by my dad. The highlight of our week would be Saturday night at the Waterford Speed Bowl in CT. I was fortunate to watch many of the great drivers from New Englang from the 60's thru the 90's. I started Drag Racing at the age of 16 at Connecticut Dragway in Colchester CT. I raced there until 1985, When the strip closed. I returned to circle track racing at "The Bowl". Our team raced Stafford friday nights, Waterford Saturday, and Thompson on sunday in the Tri-Track series.
It was a lot of work, but some of the best times in one of the most cometitive sportsman racing divisions. From 1993 until 2002, I ran a chassis fabrication business called Kugler Engineering, know as KEI Race Cars. I enjoy supporting customers from Maine to New York in divisions from enduro's to Pro Stock. I had the fortunate experience to work with Marsh Racing for two seasons campaining a Bush Grand National car with Drivers Ted & Mike Christopher, Matt Hutter and Lianne Lombardi. Ted Marsh was excellent to work with and really raise my abilities in chassis set up and preparation to the next level. Marsh Racing's shop manager at the time, Roger, was a joy to work with.
I later closed my shop and went ot work for Moroso Performance as a development engineer. I was given the responsibility of developing chassis performance products for the sister company Competition Engineering. I later worked on the development of front wheel drive traction and performance parts and campained a 10 second Honda Civic R&D vehicle with the world record holding engine tuner Raphael Fuentes.
My latest passion has become building and experimenting with electric vehicles. I currently have a street legal Honda CBR 600 F3 converted to 100% electric power. It is my daily driver to work and around town in the summer. I look forward to getting into electric vehicle drag raing.
