I always enjoyed the mechanical side of things so I tinkered with, built, and raced minibikes and dirtbikes as a kid and young adult. I took my love of mechanical things a step further by going to college and getting a 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering. It opened job opportunities for me but in all honesty I use my engineering degree a lot more in my personal life. In 1987 I got involved with road race time trials which was a cheap way to race on a limited budget. I won several championships and decided to take my racing to the next level and went racing with SCCA in SSGT, Formula Ford, ITE, and since 2000 I am in my glory racing in GT1. I have tied and won one championship in the regional level. In 2006 I switched over to the National level and have a lot of good competition at that level. We did manage to finish 2nd overall in our first year and earn three 2nd place finishes in our first year, but we have a lot of work to do to win a National championship. Money is our biggest adversary at this level of racing. I am about the only Ford out there in my division and hope that this will spark a sponsorship opportunity.
