PACE Performance Powers RacingJunk RestoMod

For the power enthusiast or weekend racer, an LS conversion is often the first place to start when looking to boost power or increase performance, and Pace Performance is the go-to provider for everything from LS conversions, engine and transmission kits, and ready to run engines.  When RacingJunk.com was discussing what would power its 1953 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery Beach Cruiser conversion giveaway vehicle, the E-Rod Connect and Cruise was at the top of that list, and Pace was the obvious partner to make it happen.

Turning the ’53 Sedan Delivery into a classic beach cruiser was always the vehicle plan, a nod to VisitMyrtleBeach.com, the other giveaway sponsor. But without a solid engine that offered more rev than rumble, the car would be a glorified surfboard hauler.  The E-Rod connect and cruise was the best choice for a powertrain that both includes the LS3 engine and a 50-state emissions compliance, an essential component for a vehicle that could end up in any  of the 48 contiguous states.

“With emission laws changing from state to state and vehicles commonly sold from one coast to the other,  this Chevrolet Performance E-ROD connect & cruise package is a great way to update a vehicle’s driveline,” explains Chuck Fitch, of PACE. “Chevrolet Performance’s industry-exclusive E-ROD crate engine packages deliver performance with hassle-free emissions compliance. It’s the only OEM crate engine solution that enables authorized, emissions-compliant high-performance engine replacements for approximately 20 million pre-1996 cars, trucks and SUVs in California, regardless of the make, model or original powertrain.”

The V8 engine is big enough to power the cruiser, and powerful enough to make driving the vehicle feel like a real throwback to the glory days of the big, American car – without the environmental concerns and with added reliability.  The LS3 engine’s claim to fame is 190 mph in the Corvette, kicking out 430hp and 424 lb-ft of torque, which means there’s a lot of get up and go in this laid-back machine.

“The RestoMod giveaway lets us both support our loyal customers and also showcase our great partners and their products,” says Rob Adams, VP of Sales and Marketing for RacingJunk.com.

For PACE, the collaboration was also a no-brainer. “This powertrain package needed for this project is what we provide to customers. Pace has over 90 complete engine & transmission combinations on the shelf. Complete packages for small & big block Chevy, GM LS & LT as well as small block Ford with automatic or manual transmissions,” explains Fitch.

The giveaway launched officially nationwide on April 20, 2015 and will run through June 2016. Potential winners can enter online HERE or at any of the events where the vehicle will appear including the SEMA and PRI Trade shows. Entries will also be taken at the Super Chevy shows.
