The Burnout is in St. Paul, MN for the annual Back to the 50s Weekend car show, a 12,000 vehicle endeavor which sees the massive Minnesota State Fairgrounds covered in pre-1963 vehicles. It’s a site to behold. Sponsored by the Minnesota Street Rod Association, the weekend long event is a chance for state, local, and regional car clubs to get together, show of their sweet rides, and chill while looking at some other classic hot rods and classics.
We love it because the people are spectacular, welcoming, and its a heck of a lot of fun to see the fairgrounds fill each day with these vehicles that a lot of people have had for decades, and still drive.
Yesterday, we met MSRA founder and #1 member Jerry Johnson, plus a 17 year old rodder who just finished his first build – a 1937 Ford pickup. We also got to sit in a rare 1958 Chrysler 300 with its original MOPAR engine. It’s a cool classic, but we had to ask, “Where do you park that thing?”
Enjoy the photos!
