Diesels on the Mountain presented by BD Diesel Performance is a 2-day event with truck and tractor pulls, drag racing, show-and-shine, as well as a burnout contest. The event started at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Friday with an impressive night of sled pulls. Saturday was all about drag racing, the MBRP Drag Racing Series moved to Bandimere Speedway. Newcomer drag racer Derek Rose shook off any rookie jitters with a record-breaking pass of 9.41 at qualifying. However, the record was short lived with veteran Rob Coddens taking back the record with a 9.36 to take the record and the win.
