This Saturday, central Iowa schools have a competition of their own as fans head toward Knoxville Raceway for its 61st Season Opener of the Lucas Oil Knoxville Champion Cup Series. The Raceway distributed 50,000 coupons to local schools to promote Race for Your School Night. For every adult paid admission of 15-dollars, Knoxville Raceway will give back 5-dollars to his or her school. The school that raises the most money will also receive a cash prize. All kids under the age of 19 also get in free.

“We are encouraging more families to come to the races in hopes of finding some brand new race fans,” said Knoxville Raceway Promoter Brian Stickel. “The entertainment you find here is unlike anywhere else and costs no more for families than a night at the movies.” There will be fun for all ages as kids games get under way at 5 pm and hot laps start at 6:45 pm.

Besides this Saturday night, three other nights during the season will also be free for kids under the age of 19. They are May 3rd, May 31st, and July 12th.
