Default 49 Chevy 3100 Stepside pickup

Last night I bought a 49 Chevy Pickup 3100 series. Straight 6 engine use to have 3 on Column now 3 in floor..Black man owned it and drove it everyday for 30 yrs until he died. its got some rust where a 65 year old truck would have it....has been converted to 5 lug already
Only part I hate is he tried to paint it Gold ( very bad ) also boggered up dash trying to put in stereo...nothing I cant fix...Glad to have it.

For Now yes...it runs really smooth...My immediate plans is to get a few wrinkles out of it and primer black and seal it. Next a set of steely wheels paint them Red with short centers or a set of chrome reverse and some white walls...Got a local artist that will hand strip some older tribal etc..... Only thing I am going to order new is a Chrome or polished aluminum Grill and Door handles. It will break up the black nicely...Going after a simple but clean Hot Rod look

If anyone runs across some cool ideas on this theme I am after please post some pics..

Swiley way later down the line I will go with a very Mild V8. maybe even a small roots blower.
