generators powering your welders at the track
hey guys i have a 200amp 220volt mig welder im wanting to power in my trailer, some say 30amp circuit is enough but what are your guys experience.
its a newer inverter type so its real efficient but i dont want to buy a 7500-800 watt generator to find out i need a 10-12k watt unit.
what size generators you guys use to power your welders at the track?

I have a Lincoln 180 mig that I have used with my 3,000 watt gen.
I've never tried to weld with it on high, but it's done fine doing light material.
A 30 amp breaker is all I have on my generator and in the shop.
BTW 30 amp is as big as I've ever seen on a generator.
