Default SOLID ROLLER VALVE LASH

I built a 388 stroker motor, I have a comp cams solid roller .630 lift. Comp solid roller lifters, +.100 hardened Jegs pushrods and some "no name" stainless steel roller rockers.

Heres my problem, I set my valve lash 022ex 020 int. After I set this I can bump the engine over and my valve lash will be 040 +. Is it possible that the pushrod seat is being pushed in on these new rockers? None of the pushrods are bent. I have ran the motor for roughly 5 minutes after rebuild. I shut it down due to some noise that just came on. I am hoping that these loose rockers are my mystery noise. Any one have problems with crappy no name rockers like this? Thank you JD

Are you using the exhaust open / intake close method to set your lash?

To set your lash...When your exhaust valve "STARTS" to "OPEN", you will set your intake lash. Now, when your intake valve "STARTS" to "CLOSE" you set your exhaust lash. When I set mine, I'll do all of the intake valves first in the firing order sequence, then I'll do all of the exhaust valves.

I was using the ex open int close method.. I'm sure using a dial indicator would be best.

The heads are 049 Bowtie aluminum heads.. 55cc chambers.

Default solid

You might want to check the lifters/cam lobes. The excess clearance can come from either end of those pushrods.

Otherwise either relash those rockers or put on a different set of rockers to see if the noise goes away.
