converter clearance

Default converter clearance

i have powerglide tranny and 8 inch converter. when convereter is clicked in all the way into the tranny, how much do i back off of it when i tighten the converter to flexplatre. i am sure it is 1/16 to 1/8" backed off the tranny. thanks art

I usually shoot for 1/8", i think that's what most converter mfg. recommend, otherwise there could be damage to the pump.
