Kinda knew this was gonna happen but was hoping it would last a lil longer. I just installed a new BBC in my 85 Z28. It had a nice beefed up 700r4 in it. But it didnt have enough beef cause less the 10 miles on it 2nd gear is fried. The engine I'm guessing has 550 to 600 horse and this is a street more than stripapplication. What is the differnce in the final drive gear if I swapped to a 400? Is it possible to beef up the 700 enough withstand the punishment of the bbc? Or should I just get a 4L80E and have it gone though?
