Default Upper Shock Mount Question

Hi ,

I have made a couple of upper coilover mounts. Before I weld them to the cross bar it dawned on me that all coilovers may not be created equal.
I am wondering how much space to leave between the brackets. I have a set of QA 1 coilovers that measure 1.3 inches across the top. I may or may not use QA 1.
I don't want to cut and reweld these brackets if I decide to go with a different brand. Should I leave a bit of space and shim the QA 1s with washers just in case I ever end up with a wider shock?

Thanks, Mike

I'm not familiar with the dimensions of the various cloilovers, however you DO want to bolt up the tire/wheel combo you'll be running to make sure you have enough clearance.
