I lived in Denver in the late 70's and raced a bug at Bandimere. Ran up against a rotary every once in a while that was so loud when he staged that I couldn't hear my own engine ! Ran REAL quick ! :shock:

I will take a Guess at it and say 14,000 to 16,000....reason i say this is because i have had friends with "d" stroked 283ci that would turn them 11,000 rpm's but nothing close to what that little stinger is turning

That's because it only weighs about 800 lbs with driver, and there was a 3mpg cross wind. :shock:


My dad used to shift his 265 SBC at 12k (4 speed car) back in the early 60s.

Then he went on to running top fuel, driving the blower with a transfer case chain.

Man the crazy crap they did back then (and apparently now in Puerto Rico)
