Not much difference minus emission devices
Marine applications always used hardened valve seat inserts for sustained WOT use, and sometimes they are four bolt mains, where the passenger car and truck versions did not always have hardened valve seat inserts. Some real advanced salt water blocks have a rust preventing coating in the water jackets from aftermarket re-builders on high end stuff. There will not be any vacuum operated emission devices run off a TVS either if it is in tact still.

I rent a building to a marine reapir guy, He has a 454 that came out of a boat setting on the floor and asked him about it, from what he says there is not much difference between marine and car motor, the difference is brass freeze plugs and ? ( can't remember ) getting old. LOL but he will sell motor as it sets for $ 400 its a 4 bolt main with oval port heads that need a freshening.
