Burn out tire hop...
I have a 68 camaro with a 4-link QA1 coil shocks and 31X14.5 goodyear slicks. When I do a burn out the tires really start hopping. Should I stiffen up the shocks will it stop this?

Tire hop
I kind of ruled out balance as he mentioned that it hopped on the burnout. Thought he would have mentioned a shake at the top end if it had a bad balance. But, I guess you can rule out nothing when you are trying to solve a problem.

I am not sure what size spring it is. How do you tell. At top end there is no vibration or hopping. The tire starts to hop about half way threw the burn out and as you keep going in the burn out the more it hops.

Maybe it's just trying to hook up. Does it start hopping after you release the line lock and start rolling? If you do long burnouts, try shorter ones. I keep mine to 3 seconds max from start to finish, high gear only......

Sounds to me like your squaring up your tires. Which means they're doing there job and trying to hookup. Try shorting the distance your burning out, maybe by using a line lock on the front tires.
