another piston to head question

Default another piston to head question

i fit the heads to my motor with no head gasket until i could roll it over by hand.then i installed heads with .062 solid copper gasket,do you think this should be enough clearance?also engine has 220 pounds cranking comp ,what octane should i use?

that in theory will give ~.062" piston-head clearance,not accounting for any piston rock.in most applications .062" is ample or even excessive.

with out knowing more about your engine combo i wouldnt run anything less then 110 but to be safe 112
