Default mudracing steering questions

would like to know if anyone knows anything about rack & Pinion steering on mudracers. is this a good option or is a regular steering box better? im moving my front end out about 3-4 inches and worrying about extending frame and clearence issues. my rig will be a 91 toyota body and frame. any feedback would be greatly appricated.

Yes the rack and pinion steering is the way to go, it doesnt have the bump steer that a steering box will give you. and you can save some weight also.
