Default sbc rocker arm question

I am rebuilding the engine in my sons 90 silverado and was wondering if the factory self aligning rocker arms have to be reused or can I install regular long slot rockers on this engine?I have been building small blocks for many years, but this is the first latemodel type engine. It does not have a radical cam,i just have a new set of long slot rockers on hand and was wondering if they would work. Thanks

If the heads have large round pushrod holes then you need self aligning rockers.

Some engines in that vintage still had the old pushrod guide holes in the heads and they use the old rockers.

I've seen one engine that had heads with the same casting numbers one head had the big pushrod holes and the other head had the old guiding pushrod holes.
