mechanical injection pump priming
Have a Hilborn ( PG-150A) belt driven pump on one car, and a Crower (80A-0) belt driven pump system on the other. Would like to know if I could use an electric pump w/bypass (to tank) regulator to prime mechanical pump(s) for self starting.
Would a FI pump be better, psi/flow wise rather than a carb pump? Suggestions on max psi to set regulators.
These are gas setups, -8's but could go to -10's if necessary.
Thanks for any help/ideas.........

Ok...

First you need that nozzle.
Then, since you said you're running -8...

You need that adapter on the pump inlet.
Now, simply take your favorite cheap ass electric pump from Auto Zone and connect the two together with a momentary switch. Put the primer nozzle in the distribution block.
Hit the button a few times to prime the entire system and fire it up!

Glad I could help. Just remember that the primer nozzle is -4 line, and the side feed on the pump inlet is -6. So you'll need the appropriate fittings to get it all mated.
RBS should also sell the -6 to -4 fitting for the mechanical pump inlet where you're going to pull fuel from. They'll probably also have the -4 to NPT fittings for the cheapo electric pump. Hoses should be available anywhere.
