Default turbo 400 c-30 chevy truck trans questions HELP!!!!

HI,i have a spare th400 trans that has the short tail shaft on this trans and appears to be the same overall length.the trans in the truck has a bolt on yoak and this spare trans that i have the output shaft has no tapped hole for a bolt on trans yoak.so can i use this trans and the bolt on type yoak and seal up the end of the yoak so no trans fluid leaks by or try to find a slip on yoak.the year of this truck is a 77 gmc. hope to get some input on this asap,as i plan on doing the swap soon. THANKS gary

Default trans

if i understand what you are asking, no you can not use the bolt on 400 yoke, i believe it is very short and your new tranny uses a slip yoke that slides in and out of the tail shaft, which it is a longer yoke.
