Default Rookie Help - Kickdown/PassingGear Linkage?

Can some explain what the Kickdown/PassingGear Linkage, is? Do I need to even hook it up? I've got 2 (short track) enduros cars, one with a 2bbl the other 4bbl. Both have th350 trannys. Thanks for the help.

Default

The kickdown cable on a TH350 is only for full throttle kickdown. Part throttle is controlled by the vacuum modulator. It's OK to disconnect it.

Default Is there a advantage. Hooked or unhooked

Is there a advantage either way? Reason asking both cables are broke. Im runing both cars in drive, around the track. 2nd just has the stock motors screaming. Our top speed is around 55-60.
